HISTORY:
Nicole Sharp comes from a loving family of farmers on Venus. Most of her family works for the Burns Plantation. While many have made a good living in this capacity, it would not be considered the most lively of lifestyles, nor the most prestigious. Nicole Sharp was a bright and energetic young girl. Though she respected the work of her family she thought that perhaps there might be more to life than farming. As a result Nicole began planning her "escape" from Venus at a young age. Lacking the financial support to do this on her own, Nicole turned to her local Exofleet recruiter for options. Capitalizing on her desire to see far away places, the recruiter talked Nicole into signing on for a five-year commitment.

Initially Nicole was very excited about joining the Exofleet. However, six months into her five-year commitment and she was about ready for it to end. While Nicole had traveled, she had not anticipated the rigorous physical training, long hours, and generally tedious nature of the military life. Nicole decided to quietly serve out the remainder of her tour of duty and the return to Venus. Fate, as it turned out, had other ideas.

The Kidimer colony was the location of a dispute between the local miner's union and their regional employer. The workers were upset with their low pay and unsafe working conditions. The employers insisted that the pay was fair and the conditions were more than safe. As open debate raged between the two parties, tensions hit their breaking point with riots breaking out within the colony. Exofleet was promptly contacted for help and the nearest ship re-routed to restore order. That ship was base of operations for Nicole's first squad. Upon arriving at the Kidimer colony, Nicole's squad was deployed with the intent of disabling the colony's external defenses. Extremists from the miner's union had seized control of the anti-aircraft cannon network and they were using it to repel any and all invaders. Nicole's squad was tasked with striking at the colony's main generator. This was a crucial role, considering that the generator was needed for the continued functioning of the defense network. With forces already planet-side, and three other squads in the air, prompt elimination of the network was a necessity to ensure minimal casualties.

Approximately one minute into the mission, both Nicole's squad leader and executive officer were shot down. Suddenly thrust into a command position, her field sergeant froze - unable to give any orders. It was at this moment that Nicole ordered her squad to form up on her. She then proceeded to lead a successful bombing run on the main generator. Order within the colony was restored shortly thereafter. For her part in the operation, Nicole was honored for her heroism and recommended for officer's training. This also brought her to the attention of Admiral Takagi, who was in the process of assembling an elite exosquad. Though the attention of an Admiral was the last thing Nicole wanted, it may well prove to be a crucial turning point in her life. Whether that turning point proves to be beneficial or detrimental is something Nicole presently spends a lot of time pondering.
