David Poedowski was born and raised on Earth . His father was a demolitions expert for a major contractor in New York. As a child, David would watch his father at work, often begging for permission to do so. He was fascinated with the art of demolitions and had dozens of questions about how his father would engineer a series of blasts to collapse a building while leaving the ones around it untouched. David would come to spend hours building elaborate card houses that he designed to collapse with the removal of one key playing card.
Seeing David's passion for the work, his father opted to start teaching David about demolitions when he was 17 years old. Though a bit young, he rationalized the decision by noting that David would pursue his interest regardless. Thus, it was better that David learn from a professional like his father than try to figure it out on his own, in which case he might hurt himself or others. David proved an apt pupil and within a year was working alongside his father full time. When a year or two passed, David's father would retire and the company offered his position to David himself. He gratefully excepted and held the position until the Neosapian War started.
With much of the city destroyed, and humanity on the verge of extinction, David did what he felt was the only thing he could do. He fought back. Using supplies that originally belonged to his employer, David began to systematically bomb Neo installations in and around the New York area. He used a variety of different explosive devices and delivered them in surprisingly clever ways. In time, he earned a spot on the Neos most wanted list. They had no idea who he was or what he looked like, but they always knew it was David. This was because all his bombings had one thing in common: no humans or human possessions were ever destroyed. David engineered all his bombings to take out the target and nothing more.
Eventually, organized terran resistance got wind of what David was doing and sent a team to see if they could find and recruit him. David agreed to aid the resistance and served with them for the remainder of the war. Though he went on a large number of missions for the resistance, he was never caught by the Neos. But he did come very close on several occasions.
Once the war ended, David wasn't sure what to do with himself. It was now a time for rebuilding and a demolitionist really didn't fit into the picture all that well. So David decided to go where he felt his talents would be of the most use: Exofleet Academy. It was there that he first met Ellen Wright and Jared Mathison. The three of them trained together to become Jumptroopers in the new Charlie Five squad stationed out of the Resolute II. He uses a Heavy Gravity Ultra-Light E-frame as his armor of choice and functions as the groups demolitions specialist.
Having spent his time during the war as a ground operative, and having trained as a jumptrooper, David has come to see the jumptroopers as the people who do the 'real fighting'. As a result, he doesn't have much use for pilots and has been known to pick fights with them. Despite his sometimes hostile attitude, David is a good man at heart who rather die then let down his friends.
