HISTORY:
Douglas Logan had a rather uneventful childhood growing up on Earth. So much so that his one lifelong desire has been to get off-planet to discover the excitement he was so certain that he was missing. In joining Exofleet he did manage to get off-planet. However, the level of excitement has yet to meet his expectations. Doug's first assignment was as an executive officer for a squad attached to an exploration vessel. While the assignment had the potential to be an extraordinary experience, there were no first contacts with alien species, no lost alien civilizations discovered, and most certainly no combat of any kind. In fact, in the two years the mission lasted, Doug used his e-frame's weapon systems only once. However, Doug did manage to use his considerable free time in a constructive manner. He learned several alien languages, including Eltorian, and studied the Exofleet database on alien cultures.

At the time the exploration mission ended, to say that Doug was ready for a change of pace was a gross understatement. He put in for a transfer, hoping to either be reassigned in a more settled region of space or promoted to squad leader. In the end, he got neither. Doug was reassigned as an executive officer for a squad based at one of Sol's deep space outposts. Their primary function was to patrol for craft attempting to sneak in or out of the Sol System. In effect, functioning as the border patrol for the Terran Federation. The assignment lasted another year. While it was significantly more eventful than deep space exploration, border patrol still wasn't what Doug Logan was hoping for. Thus he again requested a transfer. Once word had been received that he was to be assigned to the Exofleet's new flagship, Doug knew he had finally gotten the assignment he always wanted.
