HISTORY:
Like most of his squad, J'Nal came into Exofleet service through the Extraterrestrial Diversification Program (EDP). Whereas most chose to enroll to meet certain professional goals, J'Nal did so for far more personal reasons. J'Nal was born to an Eltorian mother but his father was Terran. He grew up spending most of his youth on D'Noria Station. He also had the opportunity to visit Eltoria on several occasions, as well as Kultoria. This afforded him a great deal of familiarity with his Eltorian heritage. J'Nal's father made a point of educating his son about Sol and its inhabitants. Despite his father's best efforts, the young hybrid still felt disconnected from his Terran heritage.
Raised in a post-Eltorian/Terran War society, J'Nal grew up knowing that he was different than those around him. But J'Nal was lucky enough to mostly avoid being ostracized and persecuted by his peers. This is reflected by his often up-beat personality. When he came of age, J'Nal was drafted into the Eltorian Guard where he quickly gained a reputation as a skilled soldier and pilot. In fact, his piloting skills are considered to be second-to-none among his peers in the Guard. His hand-to-hand combat skills are considered equally formidable - having never once been defeated even while training in the academy. To date, J'Nal is the second cadet in academy history that has been asked to instruct self-defense while in his first year. Upon graduation J'Nal was stationed in the Mulfa-Ne system. While the assignment was prestigious, J'Nal found it unsatisfying. It also lacked the command experience he had hoped for. J'Nal found himself longing to see other parts of the galaxy and to experience alien cultures. It was at this time that he met Craysta, a young Eltorian female with similar ambitions. The two became fast friends. Thus it was no great surprise when Craysta and J'Nal both applied for the EDP.
